Homeschool Basics - FAQ
What is homeschooling?
To instruct (a pupil, for example) in an educational program outside of
established schools, especially in the home.
To me, homeschooling is an alternative to traditional schools where,
like tutoring, you can specialize the education of the student to fit that
child's learning style as well as shape the child in the moral and
principle beliefs of the family.
Is homeschooling legal?
Yes, homeschooling is legal in all 50 states. Home schools, like other
educational institutions are regulated by the state. You will need to
locate the laws for your state. Read the law yourself so you are aware of
the regulations and options in your state.
Where can I find the laws of my state?
http://www.hslda.org/laws/default.asp is probably the most up to date
and current information on homeschool laws. You can also do a search, with
your state name and "homeschool laws".
